Answer™ - Replacing the Battery (Gen 1)

How to Replace the Battery on SecuRam SafeLogic® Lock

(for Answer Model 8 and 12 - Gen 1)

The Keypad will alert low battery when the voltage is low. When this happens, replace the battery immediately.

Please note: This guide is for the first generation SecuRam Keypad with the back-load tray.

1)  To remove the keypad to access the battery, push in (towards the safe) and up from the bottom.

DO NOT PULL UNTIL KEYPAD RELEASES!

The keypad is locked into two prongs and should release.

DO NOT PULL ON CABLE!

2)  On the back of the keypad, you will see the battery compartment. Gently remove the battery and carefully unplug it from the connectors.

DO NOT PULL CONNECTOR CABLES!

3) Install the replacement battery, carefully tuck the cable into the open compartment on the keypad and slide it back over the two prongs. Once in place, you can gently slide the keypad down until it "locks" into place.

Note: The Keypad base uses plastic tension locks to keep the keypad snug.

DO NOT PRESS DOWN TOO HARD OR THEY WILL BREAK!

***Note: Be sure to use a name-brand Duracell or Energizer battery and DO NOT use Lithium/Ion batteries. Off-brands do not always put out a full 9 volts and Lithium batteries will put off too much voltage and DAMAGE the lock.***
