Answer™ - Replacing the Battery (Gen 2)

How to Replace the Battery on SecuRam SafeLogic® Lock

(for Answer Model 8 and 12 - Gen 2)

Please note: This guide is for the second generation SecuRam Keypad with the side-load tray.
If your keypad is a back-load Gen 1 keypad that does not have a tray, please click
HERE

The Keypad will alert low battery when the voltage is low. When this happens, replace the battery immediately.

It is highly recommended that this process be completed with the door(s) OPEN if possible

1)  Locate the black battery tray on the bottom right of the keypad.

Note: The latch only opens about 45 degrees; DO NOT over-extend or break

3)  Slowly slide the battery tray down and out of the keypad

Note: The tray should slide out easily. If it is getting stuck, please make sure the latch is all the way out.

Note: The connectors will only fit one way and the battery should be perfectly flush.

Note: The tray should slide in easily. If it is getting caught, be sure the latch is still in the "unlocked" position and that the tray is parallel with the battery channel on the keypad and try again

Note: The code for your lock should be stored on the swing-bolt so there is no need to reprogram it. If you have not programmed your lock yet, please see the instruction manual for the default codes and programming instructions.

***Note: Be sure to use a name-brand Duracell or Energizer battery and DO NOT use Lithium/Ion batteries. Off-brands do not always put out a full 9 volts and Lithium batteries will put off too much voltage and DAMAGE the lock.***
