Agile Biometric Electronic Lock (6 Digit Keypad)- Basic Troubleshooting Guide

Agile Electronic Lock Not Opening - In most cases, the issue is caused by the battery.

  1. Enter your access code and look at the left LED light on the bottom right of the keypad. If the LED lights up red (or if there are no lights at all), then the battery is too weak to disengage the lock. Use the override key or use a USB-C power code to power the keypad through the port on the bottom right side of the keypad to open the door, and then install a brand new, brand name, alkaline 9V battery.

NOTE: Be sure to use a brand new, brand name (Energizer preferred), alkaline battery, instead of an off-brand or lithium battery. Off-brand and old batteries do not always put off the full 9volts or the correct amperage. Lithium batteries can produce excess voltage, which can damage the lock.

  1. Try entering your code with the door open but with the handle in the locked position. If the lock works with the door open, then something inside is putting pressure on the door and locking rods when the door is closed. Check for obstructions and move your gear away from the door frame. This can occur when the Stock Bases are placed under the locking rod on the door, so you’ll want to push the Stock Bases back until they are roughly 1” from the back wall.

  1. If you hear three quick beeps when you enter your code, then the code is incorrect and there may have been an issue during programming. Change your codes using the instructions HERE.

AgileDoor Will Not Lock - The Swing-Bolt lock is spring-loaded and uses a sliding pin and cam to unlock and re-lock the bolt. If the handle is not turned all the way to the right, it can leave enough slack so that the pin doesn't secure.

  1. Open the door and check for obstructions around the door frame.
    • StockBases should be set flat on the bottom of the cabinet, about 1” from the back wall.
    • Gear and gun slings should be kept away from the door, to prevent jamming.
    • If your gear hangs over the edge of a shelf or a bin, then make sure it is not pushing up against the door or the door frame.

  1. Turn the handle all the way to the right (just past 6 o’clock) when closing the door to make sure the cam turns far enough to engage the lock. DO NOT over-crank orforce the handle, as this can cause the handle to strip. If this happens, see the “Handle Spins 360 Degrees” instructions below.

Handle Spins 360 Degrees - The handle is designed to break/strip under excess pressure to prevent forced entry.

  1. If you can open the door, keep the door open and contact our Tech Support team for replacement parts.

  1. If you cannot open the door; locate your override keys or a USB-C power cord and contact our TechSupport team HERE for replacement parts and special instructions. (Contact page)

  1. Once the door is open, check for obstructions around the door and frame and check to see if the red low battery indicator LED lights up when you enter your access code. If the battery is low, then install a brand new, brand name, alkaline 9V battery. Move your gear away from the door frame to prevent jamming or handle striping.

Fingerprint Scanner Does Not Open the LockThis issue is commonly caused by battery or programming issues.

  1. When you press your fingerprint against the scanner, check for the red low battery indicator LED on the keypad. If the LED lights up red, then the battery is too weak to disengage the lock. Use the override key or use a USB-C power cord to power the keypad through the port on the bottom right side of the keypad to open the door, and then install a brand new, brand name (Energizer preferred), alkaline 9V battery.

  1. If you hear three quick beeps when you press your fingerprint against the scanner, then the lock does not recognize that fingerprint as a registered fingerprint. You can find the programming instructions HERE.

  1. If a previously registered fingerprint will no longer work, then we recommend performing a factory reset and reprogramming the access codes and fingerprints. You can find the programming instructions HERE.

Battery Has Died and the Keys Are Lost

  1. Use a USB-C power cord (not included) and the USB-C power port on the bottom right of the keypad to power the keypad. Enter your access code or scan a registered fingerprint to disengage the lock and open the door. Install a brand new, brand name (Energizer preferred), alkaline 9V battery.

NOTE: Be sure to use a brand new, brand name(Energizer preferred), alkaline battery, instead of an off-brand or lithium battery. Off-brand and old batteries do not always put off the full 9 volts or the correct amperage. Lithium batteries can produce excess voltage, which can damage the lock.
